Manga Recommedations XVI

Manga hunter here after my week long break…well it really wasn’t a break since I was working two jobs and watching over a very tiny family member. Anyway, I decided to make some manga recommendations after so long.

Boku Dake ga Inai Machi by: SANBE Kei

A strange phenomenon where one is transferred back to the moment right before something life-threatening occurs. This continues to happen until the cause of the threat is erased. It is as if somebody is forcing Satoru to stop it from happening. Then one day, everything is changed. What truths are revealed when Satoru comes face to face with his own past? How will they affect his future?

(summary from Baka-Updates)

This is a manga that has been made into an anime recently (I have yet to see the anime). With time manipulation and a little good murder mystery, I have to say that I enjoy this manga quite a bit. I admit that I was iffy when I first read it, but as it was updated, I got hooked.

Oyasumi Jack the Ripper by: NINOMIYA Ai & NAO Ikuhiro

“I knew that eventually I would fall into hell―.”
One day, young executioner (Monsieur de Paris), Edward, opens his eyes in “hell”. While unfamiliar monsters waltz in the place, Ed meets “that man” who once stirred the surface…

Here’s another manga I got hooked on after reading the first chapter. Besides movie references, it has its own unique twists on monsters that have gone to the afterlife like the werewolf and a vampire. Per the title Jack the Ripper is also present, but he acts a lot different than we would expect from an infamous serial killer that was never caught. The main character…let’s just say that it is better for you guys to read it online of what his name is.

Gakuen Babysitters by: TOKEINO Hari

After their parents are killed in a plane crash, Ryuuichi and his younger brother Kotarou are taken in by the chairman, who they never met before, of an elite academy. Ryuuichi becomes the school daycare’s new babysitter.

(summary from Baka-Updates)

Now for this manga…super cute! I love the little children in the school daycare and their parents are just wonderful as well. The main character is the babysitter, who has a soft spot for children and most of all for his little brother, who is so innocent and loves his big brother very much. Just a dash of cuteness can go a long way for this manga.

Those are my recommendations for today and as always, please support the creators of these works and the translators when you can.
