Chapter 30: Exodia’s Friend

In the Strong Faction, Eve trailed behind Exodia as the men in the school carried large sacks filled with supplies around the base. Eve didn’t fail to notice that the men were staring at her with hungry eyes. Each time Eve felt a chill from a stare, she inched closer to Exodia’s back.

Exodia chuckled at Eve’s actions and stated, “You could just shot them if you hate their stares so much.”

“That’s not a reason to shot,” pointed out Eve making Exodia chuckle.

“If I had your power, I would shot whenever I please.”

“Then I should be glad that you don’t have my power,” stated Eve with a frown. Exodia chuckled and then noticed that one of the men was beginning to droll as he looked toward Eve. Exodia frowned and flicked her wrist. A metal pipe bent like a snake and stabbed the man’s shoulder making him gasp in pain and Eve to gasp from shock.

“Stop screaming with a small wound like that,” stated Exodia and then added, “Now don’t ogle the newcomer anymore or the next pipe is the heart.” The man yanked the pipe form his shoulder and then headed into a classroom looking pale with sweat on his forehead.

Exodia smirked at Eve and stated, “Don’t let the men ogle you without punishment, dear Eve.” Eve remained silent with her form slightly shaking. Exodia sighed scratching the back of her head.

“How about a little bite to eat?”

“You have food?”

“Of course, Eve, why wouldn’t we?”

Eve followed Exodia all the way to the cafeteria of the school and the first thing Eve saw were stacks of potatoes.

“That’s a lot.”

“Indeed and it was quite the struggle to get, but forget the potatoes. How about some bacon and eggs?”

“You have that?”

“It’s Vegan sadly, but what can you do? School cafeteria food here is all healthy,” stated Exodia with a sigh. With those words, Exodia grabbed a plate of bacon and scrambled eggs from one of the tables that was covered with an array of breakfast items and handed it to Eve saying, “Eat your fill.” Eve nodded taking a piece of bacon in her mouth.

“It’s good.”

“I’m glad.”

Eve finished her breakfast quickly and was about to place her disposable plate in a wastebasket, until she noticed that there wasn’t a wastebasket in site. Exodia took the plastic plate and handed it to a man passing by saying, “This can last a few more rounds of meals, so wash it well.” The man nodded running to the kitchen area of the cafeteria.

Eve glanced at Exodia asking, “So you reuse the plastic plates?”

“Best way to save on dishes in these times.”

Eve nodded, but she suddenly felt the stares of the other men on her and clenched her fist with her form slightly shaking. Exodia glared at those men making them scatter and then glanced at Eve asking, “Are you sure you don’t want to shoot them?”

“Very sure.”

Exodia rubbed her chin in thought looking at Eve up and down and then smirked.

“You know what: as a girl, I think I should introduce you to someone.”

“Huh?”

Exodia suddenly began to drag Eve out of the cafeteria making Eve stumble at times. As Eve was forced to follow Exodia, Exodia began to speak in an excited manner.

“When I was teleported from the facility, I managed to bring a friend along.”

“A friend?”

Exodia nodded stating, “This friend is very special.” Eve could hear the excitement in Exodia’s voice to the point Eve wondered if the cruel Exodia was just a joke.

In a matter of moments, Eve found herself standing before double doors. Exodia pulled Eve through these doors revealing the gymnasium, but there wasn’t a single soul in sight. Only bent metal. It didn’t take Eve long to realize that this was Exodia’s playground for her metal manipulating power.

Eve was still pulled along, until Exodia stopped in front of a door with the words “Friend” etched on it. Exodia smiled at Eve and placed her index finger to her lips saying, “Keep your voice down.” Eve nodded and watched Exodia unlock the door using her power. Exodia pushed the dooropen gently saying, “Come out, come out, where ever you are.” There was playfulness in her voice as she dragged Eve into the room.

The new room had even more metal, but it was like a maze and Eve could tell that the room was expanded when she saw remnants of wall where a curved metal extended through. Exodia shut the door behind her and Eve heard the door click lock.

Exodia released Eve’s hand stating, “My friend seems to be hiding, so wait here, while I go find him.” With those words, Exodia disappeared into the metal maze with giggle.

Eve leaned against the door with uneasiness in her face. She now knew that Exodia’s friend was male, but she didn’t understand why this friend was locked in a room designed to be a maze.

Eve suddenly heard a scream and jumped in surprise, but gasped when she saw a man rush out of the maze and collide into the wall. The man had short black hair and wore a white coat stained with blood, but she also noticed metal braces on his legs. When he looked up, she noticed that he seemed to be around his thirties and his eyes were chestnut brown. He seemed shock at first to see Eve, but then his face twisted in pain. Eve heard the twisting of metal and focused on the braces on his legs. The metal of the braces were squeezing into his legs making the man scream out in pain.

Eve looked toward the maze and yelled, “Stop it Exodia. You’re hurting him!” The man’s screams changed to whimpers as the braces on his legs stopped moving.

“I see you met my friend now.”

Exodia walked out of the metal maze with a smirk on her lips and her hands on her hip.

Eve knelt next to the whimpering man and stated, “Is this man really your friend? Do you really hurt a friend?”

Exodia chuckled and knelt close to the man making him give out a whimper and grip onto Eve’s arm shaking.

“This is only punishment for past wrongs. After the punishment is over, we are friends without grudges.”

“What do you mean by past wrongs?”

Exodia smirked recounting her past with this “friend.”

“Back in the facility, I was assigned doctor…Dr. Jones. Oh, Dr. Jones isn’t my friend here. My friend’s name is Gene. He was Dr. Jones’s assistant. Dr. Jones…how to say it? He loved to ‘examine’ me very closely. I cried and no one did anything to stop him and I couldn’t fight back since my part of the facility was all plastic. Quite a bummer. No one was ever nice to me, but Gene was. He always comforted me after the examination, but Gene was also cruel to NOT do anything when the deed was happening.”

Exodia chuckled.

“Of course when the zombies came, I had no hesitation of shoving Dr. Jones into a crowd of them. His screams…were so wonderful. Gene watched with me and tried to protect me from the zombies. We survived together because we were teleported out together, but Gene was sadly still guilty for not doing anything, so I placed the braces on him and placed him in this maze as punishment.”

Eve held the man, Gene, gently and asked, “How long is the punishment?”

“A year…maybe more depending how I feel.”

“EXODIA, THIS IS WRONG!”

“Wrong?” Exodia glared at Eve and clenched Gene’s leg making him whimper.

“I was tortured in that facility. Gene should be happy that I am lenient.”

Exodia released Gene’s leg and then pulled Eve to her feet.

“You were a dangerous User that had to be locked up. You survived…you are strong…you wanted revenge against the facility right?”

“I…”

Exodia glanced at Gene and stated, “My friend…hurt him to released frustration.”

Eve’s eyes widened asking, “Is that why you wanted me to see him?”

“That’s right and if you hurt him, you will have the courage to teach my men their lesson if they refuse to stop lusting for you and you can make them obey.”

Eve saw the crazed look in Exodia’s eyes and shook her head saying, “I won’t do it.”

Exodia sighed and released Eve, but a clawed metal suddenly latched itself on Eve’s arm making her scream out in pain. Eve collapsed on the ground with tears in her eyes.

“You will remain here, until I see a gun wound on my friend’s body.”

Exodia used her power to open the door and then walked out making sure to lock the door behind her.

Eve gasped in pain as blood dripped from her arm. Eve gripped the metal claw and forced it off making her cry out in pain. Blood poured out like a waterfall, but Eve immediately used her power to summon the science fiction healing weapon. She ran the light of the weapon over her wound a few times, until it closed leaving no scar in sight.

Eve panted with sweat on her face and complexion kind of pale.

“Are you OK?” she heard Gene say for the first time. Eve nodded and felt her consciousness begin to leave her. Gene held Eve and asked her, in a hurry, “What is your name?” Eve muttered out her name before darkness took over her.
