Chapter 60: My Situation Seriously Sucks

Your majesty…your majesty…

Stop talking, my head really hurts.

I opened my eyes startled. That voice was seriously loud…where did that voice come from anyway? Hold up, I am lying on a sofa in an unfamiliar room. This room has very good furniture, so this room most likely belongs to someone rich…diamond handles on the door…VERY rich.

…Really, how did I end up here? I remember talking with Zayn’s father about the talent show. Zayn’s father, Duke Ulises, tried to bribe me to quit the talent show, but when I refused…he knocked me out and I am now in this room. I was obviously kidnapped. Maybe I should keep a scoreboard of how many times I’ve been kidnapped before hitting puberty.

But seriously, Duke Ulises is a jerk. He kidnapped me, so Zayn won’t be able to participate in the talent show. This is going too far. Does he know that kidnapping a high standing lady is a bad move…oh yeah, I am pretending to be a commoner, so he must not be aware of my background. Tough luck for me. My situation seriously sucks.

Well, I can’t remain trapped here, so I better escape…I was so focused on the rich furniture and the doorknobs that I didn’t even notice that the walls and the face of the doors and windows were surrounded by branches of trees and vines. If you don’t have a high level of wood talent, chances are that you wouldn’t be able to escape. Luckily for me, I have a high level in my wood talent, so branches and vines prepare to make way for me.

I held out my hand and began to manipulate the branches and vines to move away from the door. Almost there…WAHHH!

WHAT THE HECK? The window behind me just burst open from the outside. Glass is flying everywhere. I manipulate the branches in my control to protect me from the shards. I heard the settling of the falling glass and made a small crack between the branches to peek out. I have no idea if it is safe or not outside after that abrupt crash of the window.

“Man this place is crawling with plants. There has to be something valuable in here, no doubt about it.”

The voice was obviously male and sounded very cheery, but I could tell another thing by just listening to his statement: he is here to steal from the duke. What a brave thief. I look through the crack to peer at the thief and saw that he had long brown hair in a ponytail with a green hunter’s hat on the top of his head. He wore green overalls and a quiver filled with arrows…why in the world does he look like Robin Hood? He better not have the cliché thought of steal from the rich and give to the poor. That would be too lame, especially for this world.

I saw him rummaging through the drawers, but it doesn’t seem like he found anything of value, especially judging by his furrowed eyebrows as he tosses what I think is a pearl necklace to the floor.

“You have got to be kidding me! This room was being guarded so tightly. Why isn’t there anything?”

Well I learned that this room is being guarded. Good thing I didn’t go through the door, but why haven’t any guards charged in when this would be thief exploded the window?

I have no idea when it happened, but the thief and I met eyes and he is now peeking through the opening I made from the braches I surrounded myself with.

“Who are you?”

I didn’t answer as I closed the opening. I don’t know why, but that guy kind of scared me…WAHH! WHY IS THERE AN EARTH BLADE CUTTING THROUGH HERE? I nearly became headless. It’s a good thing I ducked. The top half of the branches around me was lifted up and then I found myself staring back at the thief.

“A little girl?”

I didn’t say anything at first, but I did use a vine to smack his cheek, especially when I saw the earth blade in his hand.

The thief sat on the ground rubbing his cheek. I heard him mutter an apology before he stood up and asked, “Is this your room?”

“I wouldn’t call it my room. I was forced in here.”

“Kidnapped, now who are you?”

“Shouldn’t you tell me your name first?”

“…Laveda, now who are you?”

“The name is Demetri,” he stated as he stood up brushing off his pants. He then added, “So the Duke kidnapped you. I guess the rumors are true.”

“What do you mean?”

“The rumors that Duke Ulises is a Lolicon.”

“…THAT MUST BE FALSE! I was kidnapped for an entirely different reason.”

Demetri raised an eyebrow and asked, “What reason is that?”

I crossed my arms pouting.

“Duke Ulises doesn’t want his son to join the talent show happening tomorrow, so he kidnapped me, his partner, so his son won’t be able to participate.”

“Isn’t the talent show today?”

I must have been out for a long time. This is really bad. I better get out of here. I ran toward the damaged window, but I was suddenly picked up by none other than Demetri.

“Let me go, let me go!” I repeatedly said, but Demetri just chuckled and stated, “I’ll let you go, if you help me out real quick.” I could use my talents to seriously hurt him, but…

“Help you with what?”

I don’t want to use too much of my power.

“Can you use that wood talent of yours to clear out this mansion? I need the money you see.”

“…FINE, but you have to help me get to the talent show on time.”

With our deal made, he placed me down and I used my wood talent to manipulate the trees in the surrounding area to attack the mansion.

“What’s going on?”

“The trees, the trees!”

“Run for your lives!”

…This sounds like a horror movie. Demetri laughed and then patted my head saying, “Good job kid.”

“My name is Laveda.”

“I know, I know.”

The next thing I knew, Demetri ran out of the room quickly and seemed to return in a flash with a large bag tied over his shoulder.

“I was right that this place was filled with treasures.”

“You didn’t steal everything, right?” I asked in an uneasy tone. I don’t want Zayn to be broke.

“I didn’t steal everything, so this Duke is still pretty rich. See? I’m a nice guy.”

“Nice guys don’t steal.”

Demetri chuckled and then suddenly lifted me up making me slightly flinch.

“Well let’s get you to that Talent Show.”

The next thing I knew, wings made of Earth attached to Demetri’s back and he flew out the window. I didn’t know you can fly with the Earth Talent and he’s fast. If it wasn’t for the earth talent, I would have thought he had the wind talent as well.

Ah, now that I think about it, I should have repaired the mansion before I left…oh well.
