When Kaya runs into trouble one day, it’s not a knight in shining armor, but her stuffed animals that come to her rescue. It may sound crazy, but Kaya isn’t pretending: she loves her stuffed animals so much, they come to life and turn into people! Plushies come in all different shapes and sizes, and so do their hearts—whereas some are nice, there are others who are not so kind.

(summary from Broccoli)

This was a cute read and before it did take me a while to read it since the license on this was dropped, but it is a really cute story. I love the dolls to the point I wanted to own them, but I have yet to find them. This is completed translated, but it might be difficult to find online to read.

Renai Demo Classic by: Shimada Chie

Many years have already passed since the Taisho era began. Sonomiya Reiichirou who is a fallen noble turned tutor, and Maruya Aoi, the daughter of a newly rich dumpling seller, start this wonderful Taisho romantic love story. Reiichirou gives Aoi-sama strict and attentive lessons to help her become familiar with being amongst the rich and the powerful! However, when night falls, the lessons quickly change to private lessons!?

(summary from Baka-Updates)

Now this story was just too cute. I love how in each chapter the character learns something new and there are points where she gains an admirer as well, but her love is dedicated to the main male character. I just love this. This is also complete, so you can enjoy the story in full online.

Those are the manga recommendations for today and as always, please support the creators of these works and the translators when you can.

Light Novel Recommendations

Manga Hunter here! I just remembered that I read these light novels just last year, so I thought I should mention them. I must add that the updates for them aren’t frequent, but they are still worth the read.

Hachinan tte, Sore wa Nai Deshou! by: Y. A & Fuzi Choco

Ichinomiya Shingo, a young 25 years old, single, company worker, while thinking of tomorrow’s busy working day goes to sleep. However the moment he woke up, it was a room unknown to him.

He then learned that he was inside a 6 years-old boy and had taken over his mind.

Furthermore he learned a lot from the memories of said boy: he was born as the youngest child (8th son and 10th child) of a poor noble family living in the back country. Having no administrative skill, he couldn’t do anything to manage the vast land his family has.

Fortunately, he was blessed with a very rare talent, talent of magic. Unfortunately, while his talent could bring prosperity to his family, in his situation it only brought disaster.

Yes, this is the story of the boy, Wendelin von Benno Baumeister, opening his own path in a harsh world.

(summary from Infinite Novel Translations)

A reincarnation story or body swap depending on how you look at it. I admit that I love these type of stories, especially when the character is hardworking.

Villainess Brother Reincarnation by: Azumi Seika

What should I do about being reincarnated as a villainess girl’s older brother?

When I heard about my younger sister’s engagement to the prince, I remembered my previous life’s memories. Isn’t this world the otome game that my previous imouto liked!? Moreover, my current imouto, will be causing the destruction end of my family!

This is the brother’s story of trying to prevent destruction flags.

(summary from Baka-Updates)

All right, this one hasn’t been updated for a while, but the chapters that were put up was enough to get me hooked. It makes me hope for the character to succeed in his quest to save himself and his sister. This is another Otome game story, but it doesn’t focus on the female, so hopefully you guys will find this uniqueness in my opinion quite entertaining.

Those are the light novel recommendations and hopefully not the last. As always, please support the creators of these works and the translators when you can.

Light Novel Recommendation

Here is a light novel recommendation!

Meow Meow Meow by: Ju Hua San Li

A two years old ordinary cat travels through time to become a thousand years old demon cat Hua Miao Miao.

Little Miao Miao doesn’t understand the complications of life, still acting like an ordinary cat.

Unexpectedly, Hua Miao Miao meets Bi Qing Shen Jun, a warrior god who looks like her previous owner, and is tricked by him to go to the heavens to become his disciple.

Under the tutelage of shifu Bi Qing Shen Jun, after going through numerous painful challenges, little Miao Miao finally understands what it means to be a “cat.”

– Can’t undress in front of other people, except shifu.

– Can’t elope with other men, except shifu.

– Can’t hug or kiss other people, except shifu.

– Can’t accept roses from Xiao Tian Quan, except given by shifu.

– Can’t go to Underwater Third Prince’s place to eat fish, except cooked by shifu.

Uh…… what else?

Not allowed to go to a brothel to earn money? Not allowed to cause chaos or accept proposals?

Meow~ I don’t remember…… Shifu, don’t be angry.

All right, I’ll remember clearly in the future, please don’t eat me!

(summary from calicoxtabby)

I read this light novel last year and didn’t recommend it until now because it hadn’t been updated for a while and the inappropriate jokes, but I thought it was time. We are adults here and we must admit that most of us can take sexual jokes. There isn’t too much of those jokes in this light novel from what I can tell or I am just too dry for these jokes. Let’s just hope for more updates in the future by showing support by reading these updates that are already posted.

Manga Recommendations VII

There are not only online comics, but manga as well.

Sir Tiger’s Table by: IM Hae Yeon

Meng Geum Ho, who is actually the popular author Eun Ho, transfers to a new school. Unwilling to socialize with any of his classmates, he soon gets himself a bad reputation as someone who is not to mess with. When the unpopular girl called “One” accidentally watches him beat up some guys, she runs away in fear but leaves her lunchbox behind. Meng Geum Ho finds it and searches for its owner stating that he also have a request for that person.
What could that request be? And what happens when One and Meng Geum Ho are forced to be partners on a field trip?

(summary from Baka-Updates)

I admit that the main character girl got on my nerves at some points, but she gets stronger as the story progresses and the main character guy…I’m still waiting for more improvement on his part, but the story is enjoyable and makes you a bit hungry at times.

Yankee-Kun to Megane-Chan by: YOSHIKAWA Miki

yankee-kun to megane-chan

(image from Baka-Updates)

The story starts with a seemingly unassuming class rep Adachi Hana who has taken an interest in the school’s known delinquent, Shinagawa Daichi. Just what is her reason for following Daichi and wanting him to go on the class field trip?

(summary from Baka-Updates)

This story is filled with comedy and some unpredictable moments. When you expect something to happen, the opposite most likely happens and that’s good since you are always surprised. It is a school life story as well with delinquents, so look forward to it and the best part is that all chapters are translated, so no cliffhangers anymore.

Those are my recommendations, so I hope you enjoy them and as always, support the creators of these works and the translators when you can.

Online Comic Recommendations II

Manga Hunter here! I am recommending two online comics I read when I was still in high school. One is complete and the other is still ongoing.

Misfile by: Chris Hazelton

misfile

(image from Celestial Filing Depot)

It chronicles the story of Ash Upton and Emily McArthur who, after a universal filing error in the Celestial Filing Depository, find that their lives are very different than they were the day prior. Emily has become two years younger and Ash has swapped sexes completely, and is now a girl. In order to change things back to the way they were, they must play along to ensure that Rumisiel (the angel who caused this mess in the first place!) gets back into heaven before the bosses find out and make the changes permanent.

(summary from Misfile Wiki)

This is online comic with gender bender and second chances, but with a hilarious twist. Some of you will notice that the artwork steadily improves as it is updated. There is also a published version by the author, so make sure to get a copy to support the creator or ask for commissions when it is open. It is currently ongoing, so you can enjoy updates every weekday, but I do suggest you guys read from the beginning to understand what is going on, but I have to admit that it is getting good.

The Way to Your Heart by: Emily W. Muto

TheWayToYourHeart_1517

(image from TV Tropes)

Taking place in Japan, the story follows Naïve Everygirl Yumi Takahashi, a transfer student to the prestigious St. Othello Academy, a private school heralded for both its academics and elite music program. St. Othello is also home to Orochi, an up-and-coming indie visual-kei band consisting of School Idols Miyabi Otosuki (vocals), Akito Yamashita (guitar), Shuya Katsumura (bass), and Toshio Matsumoto (drums).Upon Yumi’s first day of school, she accidentally incurs the wrath of Miyabi. Both quickly dislike the other, and every day, Yumi suffers constant abuse from him, causing her to gain sympathy from Toshio. As the two bond, Yumi decides to attend one of Orochi’s lives on her accord, her rock-gal guise attracts Miyabi’s attention and causes him to fall in love with her without knowing who she truly is!

(summary from TV Tropes)

This is the online comic that is complete. It is a serious story, but it managed to grow on me over the years, especially with the romance, but there are moments when you want to slap the characters for their stupidity. The main character girl was the one who evolved the most (she kicks butt). The creator of this work is selling her story on Kindle and I think hardcopy, so make sure to buy her works to show your support.

Those are my online comic recommendations for now and you can read these works online by clicking on the pictures in this blog, but please try to buy the books or donate to help the creators in real life and to show you love the work. As always, please support the creators of these works when you can.
